ATI FIrePro V8700 Review @ HotHardware

Tags: ati | FirePro | hardware | review | V8700 | video card

Logo for the ATI FirePro video card lineATI is finally re-vamping their venerable FireGL line of cards by re-christening it FirePro and kicking a few new offerings for the CAD crowd out the door.  Presumably this is a move to distance themselves from the perception of a GL-centric offering with the current trends toward one DirectX format to rule them all.

Newly out the gate is ATI's FIrePro V8700.  Not one to start rune a perfectly ambiguous naming scheme from the HD line of consumer grade video cards, ATI has carried on the trend of utterly inscrutable naming conventions.  This card, reportedly, is based on the R770 series GPUs and is their current top of the line offering.

If you're interested in the absolute high-end of video card performance Chris Connolly at HotHardware has your hookup in his latest review.
