nVidia's chipsets might be your only serious option if you're looking to game with WINE libs on Linux, but more on that later. 

Hot Hardware has taken a look at ASUS's EN9800GT Matrix, a respectable nVidia 9800GT series card featuring a custom cooler and a bit of overclocking headroom built-in.  In their testing it seemed to put in a good showing against it's price competitor, ATI's Radeon 4850 chipset.
