Penny Arcade and Hot Head quietly slipped the release out on Green House Games download service right before Fallout3's release.  XBOX Live was plastered with signs promoting the demo, so it could be that PA is a bit more proactive on the console platforms.

If you're looking to play the game, your system requirements on Linux may be signifigantly higher than the minimum 1Ghz computer with a Radeon 9500/GeForce 5200/Intel GMA950 suggested.  Our 3Ghz test box running Debian Etch with a Radeon 3650 video card and the processor was barely able to keep up, routinely causing stuttering with 98.x% cpu usage.
