3 months ago I set out to buy the cheapest PLA filament on EBay and see if it was total garbage. And I’ve now printed off about two thirds of the spool. What’s do the prints look like after printing out a pound and a half of plastic?
It so happens that someone was having trouble writing a login script to run after failed attempts. And they needed not only a login script but one to run after some number of failed login attempts and to commit some arbitrary actions. You could do that with fail2ban, sure. But in this case there’s already…
With the old Craftsman drill press possibly squared I’ve moved on to checking for runout on the chuck. And to that end I’ve created a 3D printed runout gauge holder for round dial indicator.
Branded the Mingxi MX-180V mini metal lathe this model is available in a few different configurations from different resellers. And they’ll all have (for the 180V) a digital read-out and 8″ by 12″ work area.
Since I can’t find it anywhere online currently here’s the Features5.pdf file from Cinelerra-GG 09/30/2018 release. It documents the Cinelerra-CV and Cinelerra-GG feature set. Also, it coincidentally has the VP9 settings for Cinelerra that I couldn’t find listed anywhere else under chapter 3.4. Hopefully this helps anyone else whom can’t find it on the Internet…
Counting the IGUS Drylin bushing test as a success I’m moving back to bearings. For now. Here’s why.
I was attempting use a Craftsman bench press to center drill Titanium bolts with HSS drill bits. It didn’t go well so I’ve made a tool to square the table.
About two years ago I decided that Titanium would make a great material for a throat nozzle. Throat nozzles being the bit between the heatsink and heater on a 3D printer. Fast forward two years. And now you can purchase them from at least a few sources. It’s good to have my notions verified.
I’ve created this ZoneMinder VM using the Open Virtualization Format save option in VirtualBox. It includes a default install of Ubuntu 18.04 with ZoneMinder 1.32 mostly configured. And it’s set up to run in the Apache 2 root directory.
My Prusa i3 Mk3 printer’s LM8UU bearings were acting up. It could’ve been an issue with the installation. Or they might’ve just been junk out of the box. Regardless, it’s time to replace them.
With three Igus Drylin bushings in-hand I’ve decided to swap those in on the printer, at least temporarily.
